Transparent methods

Inspect the assumptions.

The sources, formulas and limits behind the platform.

Research method

We read official company product pages, announcements, investor materials and IEA publications. Every factual industry note links to a primary source. Reviewed means checked for this edition on 7 November 2026. Company plans and transactions are described at their disclosed stage. Our guides and outlook add independent analysis, not company commitments.

Flexible load formulas

Shiftable MW = reference event load × share / 100. Shifted MWh = shiftable MW × event hours. Restoration MWh = shifted MWh / (efficiency / 100). Avoided event cost = shifted MWh × event price. Restoration cost = restoration MWh × restoration price. Event contribution = avoided cost − restoration cost. Annual contribution = event contribution × events − annual operating cost.

We allow negative energy prices. A positive energy-cost contribution does not establish project feasibility or a return after capital. Event hours × events must not exceed 8,760. Restoration time is excluded, so passing this condition does not validate a physical schedule.

Maintenance formulas

Expected annual event loss = assets × expected events per asset-year × average loss per event. Assumed avoided loss = expected loss × reduction / 100. Annual net benefit = avoided loss − annual software/support − annual investigation cost. Simple payback = upfront cost / annual net benefit, only when net benefit is positive. Zero upfront cost is reported as no upfront cost entered.

Break-even reduction = annual recurring costs / expected annual event loss × 100, when the denominator is positive. It excludes recovery of upfront cost. Sensitivity rows show zero improvement, half the selected improvement and the selected improvement. They are assumptions, not confidence intervals.

Pilot brief method

Count eight self-reported evidence items. List missing items and add a qualified operational-review requirement if intended use can influence operations. A completed checklist means only that all items were checked. A fixed 90-day sequence is supplemented by a question specific to the chosen decision area.

Records and data handling

Each export contains the inputs, results and model boundary. Changing inputs invalidates the result and disables the download until recalculation. Downloads are generated locally. There is no prediction service, telemetry connection, account database or live price feed.

The homepage uses a generated editorial image of a fictional energy landscape. It does not depict an operating site owned by this project or any company discussed.
